Just couldn't do it

I was going to list a bag on etsy tonight, but my heart just wasn't in it. I was finishing it up earlier today and it was as if I was hearing in my head "this is mine, this is mine", but I pushed those thoughts aside. I was writing up the description just a few minutes ago and realized I was selling my soul for what? This baby is mine, a present to myself.

I made it with wool yarn from a sweater I found at a thrift shop in the summer. It was the colour I had been searching for, I like to call it "driftwood". I plan to make a duplicate bag and make some improvement on some little things (the leaf colour doesn't "pop" like I'd prefer, the upper trunk of the tree needs to be "redrawn"). Then I'd be happy to part with bag #2 and keep my original!

The bonus is this bag is bigger than my current one! Woo hoo!

What a beautiful bag! You know, you should make a 4 seasons set...a tree from spring, from summer, from fall, and from winter...

Fantastic!!! How clever to use yarn from a sweater. You should be able to make a few bags from all that yarn!

Kat, I used the split stitch for the lines of the tree, and of course the leaves are french knots. Maybe for the next one I'll have a mix of green leaves and orange and rust coloured ones too.

This is stunning! Of course you should keep it! As your best friend it is a thrill to see you so happy doing something you love!

The main point of discovering a gift such as yours is to honor it by knowing when to keep something and when to let it go to a new, happy home!

I can't wait to see it!

you should definitely keep that bag for yourself. I wouldn't be able to part with it either, it is beautiful. I like the understated color that will go with everything and the tree is a lovely touch without being overbearing. gorgeous.
