Fiber and Photography

Random journaling about life, the art of knitting, and my occassional creative endeavours in writing with light (photography).

Ah sheep, My new favourite animal. I'll be leaving in the morning to head to Ontario to visit my family. It's about a 15 hour drive but we'll be breaking that up between 2 days. Hubby is content to have time off from work, I have lots of wool and needles to keep me occupied, and the kids have their DVD players to watch their shows and movies.

Along our way we're going to stop in at Briggs & Little, Canada's oldest woolen mill. I'm excited because I've never been there! I love their wool, it's very affordable and felts nice and slow which makes for less felting disasters. I think they have a bunch of new colours which are not even shown on their site. I'm giddy with anticipation!

I hope to hit a few LYS's. My wish list consists of Fiber Trends Needle Felting Starter Kit, the book "Pursenalities", and roving. A few skeins would be lovely (and necessary). This is an economy trip, so I'll have to be very picky! :-)

Hi Janice, thanks!! I'm sitting here at my mom's computer...everyone is asleep! I've discovered a new benefit to knitting...it makes a 15 hour car drive fly by! I didn't even accomplish a lot, I think I'm even going to frog what I started, but knitting sure makes a long trip so much more pleasant. Oh and I'll be posting pics about any additions to my stash!

Shelley, you MUST get to Briggs & Little. It's not a pretty location as far as the building goes, but I've gone into 3 yarn shops since being in B&L and I haven't found much to get excited about. I'll be posting pics of the inside of the B&L shop. They sell their skeins for $3.75!!!! I plan to go back sometime after Christmas.
